Working cooperatively with the National Park Service’s Death Valley National Park (DEVA), the Great Basin Institute is recruiting two Archeological Technicians to join our program and assist DEVA archaeology staff with archaeological field work and data processing. Data processing duties include updating of databases and filling out site forms in support of SHPO and NHPA reporting requirements. Data processing will also include converting legacy data to digital formats, entering data into GIS, and organizing survey reports and site records within an existing data management framework. Field work includes surveying for and documenting cultural resources. Candidates will be trained to conduct field work with a high degree of independence- including planning survey strategies and managing projects.
