SUPERVISORY ARCHAEOLOGIST Logan Simpson, a growing cultural resources and environmental planning firm, currently seeks a full-time Supervisory Archaeologist to work from our Corvallis, Oregon office. Qualifications include possessing or the ability to obtain current permits with a variety of public land managing agencies, with emphasis on Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and California. Duties and responsibilities include supervising all aspects of cultural resources survey, site recording and evaluations, research, and archaeological testing and data recovery. Candidates should be familiar with the completion of survey and excavation forms, operating GPS units, preparing reports and NRHP recommendations, and conducting quality control/quality assurance reviews of data. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of federal and state cultural resources regulations, the ability to coordinate and communicate with agencies and clients, experience preparing proposals and cost estimates, and experience managing budgets and schedules. The site is known to contain several historic archaeological features dating from the 1830s to 1900, with limited quantities of prehistoric material as well. We expect that fieldwork will last at least 3 weeks, with a similar amount of laboratory time afterward.
