Laboratory Manager, Tucson, Arizona The Tucson office of StatisticalResearch, Inc. (SRI), a multidisciplinary cultural resources consulting firm,has one full-time, project-specific, hourly position available for a LaboratoryManager (LM). SRI provides comprehensive cultural resource management servicesto private and government clients at the federal, state, and local levelsthroughout the western United States from offices in Arizona, California, NewMexico, Texas, and Washington.  In coordinationwith the project principals, tasks to be performed by the LM include enteringand checking field data from a large-scale excavation on the Barry M. GoldwaterRange East into SRI's database; washing and sorting artifacts; processingflotation samples; and the rebagging, labeling, tagging, and boxing ofartifacts in accordance with Arizona State Museum curation (ASM) guidelines.The LM may also be required to supervise the efforts of one or more laboratorytechnicians, while also preparing select materials for analysts, testing labs, andphotography. The LM will also assist project principals with the daily upkeepof project vehicles; preparing, maintaining, and/or buying field equipment, andordering supplies. Idealcandidates will possess demonstrable, hands-on experience preparingarchaeological collections in accordance with ASM guidelines, along with experienceusing database programs and the Microsoft Office suite. A successful candidatemust possess superior organizational skills, a keen attention to detail, apositive attitude, a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn and execute newtasks, and legible handwriting. Candidates must also be focused, capableof performing repetitive tasks throughout the workday, and able to lift up to40 lbs. A bachelor’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a relatedfield is required.  SRI offers acompensation package that includes competitive pay; medical coverage;retirement plan; and paid vacation, sick, and holiday leave.
