Espinoza Consulting Services (ECS) has immediate opening for two archaeological technicians to support an on-going projects in Arizona. These positions are currently temporary seasonal; however, one or more could become permanent depending on the person(s). MUST have experience in Southern Arizona. Working 4-ten schedule in southern Arizona; housing and per diem provided. These are federal wage rate positions.


Archaeological Field Technicians are responsible for conducting pedestrian survey and site documentation, which includes feature and artifact identification and analyses; site descriptions; photographs; and mapping. Archaeological field technicians are required to perform the following tasks in the field:  Walk up to 10 miles a day; Identify historic and prehistoric artifacts correctly; Conduct archaeological survey and testing; Complete sketch maps of features and sites; Complete field forms accurately and concisely; Use a GPS units.


Requirements: Qualified candidates should possess, at minimum 24 credits/hours in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field (preference is for a bachelor's degree) and have completed an accredited archaeological field school or equivalent. Candidates must have experience identifying and recording prehistoric and historic resources. Candidates must also have a minimum of 3 years of field experience (e.g., survey, testing, and data recovery). Candidates must be able to perform physically demanding tasks in adverse environmental conditions (e.g., rugged terrain, remote locations, hot and cold temperatures). Candidates should also have good organizational skills, a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn and execute new tasks.
