75 years ago on December 5th 1941 Theodor Seuss Geisel, AKA Dr. Seuss was working for the New York newspaper PM as a political cartoonist when he crafted this single prescient panel.

Three days later on December 8th Geisel produced this panel which served as a retrospective on American foreign policy.

Dr. Seuss worked for three years as a political cartoonist for PM newspaper creating over 400 panels in his distinctive style. About half of these were reproduced in Dr. Richard H. Minear's book Dr. Seuss Goes to War. Fortunately with he help of UC San Diego Dr. Minear was able to get the entire body of work archived and easily accessible at http://library.ucsd.edu/speccoll/dswenttowar/index.html

With the pending 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor on Wednesday Dec 7, 2016 I found these cartoons to be an interesting perspective on the world view of the United States as the country leaped from isolationistic policies to becoming fully engaged overnight.
