Archaeologist/Principal Investigator
Lawhon & Associates, Inc. (L&A) is seeking an energetic and self-motivated individual to join our Cultural Resource Group. Our practice involves both archaeology and historic architecture and is focused on the identification of resources, assessment of effects and development and implementation of mitigation measures.
As a member of L&A�⒠�s multi-disciplined team, you will be working directly with our senior professionals and executive managers. The successful candidate will contribute to a variety of projects including but not limited to: literature reviews, archaeology surveys, NRHP determinations/nominations, preservations plans and agency coordination. Projects will involve overnight travel to job sites throughout Ohio and surrounding states.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must meet or exceed the U.S. Secretary of the Interior�⒠�s Professional Qualification Standards in the field of Archaeology, be well-versed in Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and possess 6 years of archaeological consulting experience in the public and private sector. This is a part-time position with the potential for full-time employment. It is based in our Columbus, Ohio office

�§ Knowledge of Microsoft office products
Preferred competencies and skills include:
�§ Phase II and Phase III experience (both fieldwork and reporting)
�§ Historic archaeology experience
�§ Excellent research capabilities
