PAL Principal Investigator Job Posting

 

The Public Archaeology Laboratory, Inc. (PAL), a leading cultural resource management and historic preservation planning firm in New England, has an immediate opening for an experienced Principal Investigator (PI) in support of our Energy Sector business. We seek a motivated and versatile professional to join PAL’s experienced and well respected archaeology team.
 
This is a highly compensated project position and includes competitive base pay and a comprehensive benefits package. This assignment has an expected duration of at least 24 months, with the possibility of longer term project work
 
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a PI supervising personnel and directing archaeological field investigations in the Northeast and/or Mid-Atlantic regions. A Master’s degree in archaeology, anthropology, or a related field is required. Top candidates will have 2+ years of experience supervising large-scale cultural resource management efforts for the gas and/or electric transmission industries and a thorough understanding of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the United States Army Corps of Engineers regulatory compliance processes. A proven track record of conducting effective and timely identification and evaluation surveys, and data recovery excavations in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and NEPA is required.
