Open Position �⒠� Project Archaeologist, Ann Arbor, Michigan
Commonwealth Heritage Group desires to fill the position of Project Archaeologist in our Ann Arbor, Michigan, corporate headquarters. This is an entry-level position that requires experience in conducting, under the direction of a Project Manager/Principal Investigator, Phase I surveys, Phase II evaluations, and Phase III data recoveries.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate at least two years' field experience in managing in-house support staff, sub-consultants, and temporary field employees, including multiple field teams. Knowledge of computers and GPS equipment is critical, and knowledge of GIS is a plus. Applicants should have a minimum of an M.A. in anthropology/archaeology. We desire an individual with a background in prehistoric archaeology; additional experience in historic archaeology is a plus, as is prior experience in the Great Lakes region, in general, and specifically Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. Areas of analytical expertise are open, but demonstrated ability to conduct artifact analyses and write key sections of reports (methods, results, artifact analyses) is a must.
