Tierra Right of Way Services is seeking a Project Archaeologist for our Environmental Planning and Cultural Resources Division in Washington.
Position Summary
This is an hourly position that may transition into a full-time position. The successful candidate will conduct cultural resources management projects under the supervision of the cultural resources project manager. Responsibilities include background research and literature review; planning and leading field surveys, testing, monitoring, and data recovery projects; and report writing. Tierra maintains dedicated GIS, editing, and IT departments which support this position.
The successful candidate will work out of our Shoreline office, with partial telecommuting options available.
Minimum Qualifications
Meets the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for professional archaeologist (MA/MS or PhD in anthropology or archaeology)
3+ years of supervisory CRM experience, preferably in Washington
Understanding of Federal and Washington regulatory settings including NEPA, SEPA, Section 106, and EO 05-05 Demonstrated report writing experience
Ability to conduct fieldwork in physically demanding conditions
Knowledge of architectural history and ability to complete DAHP Historic Property Inventory Forms is preferred.
