NOTE:  Recent report of investigations authored or co-authored by the applicant that meets Council of Texas Archeologists Criteria for Cultural Resources Management Full Reports, and includes environmental background, archeological background, evaluation and interpretation of cultural resources, and recommendations sections, in hard copy or digital form must be submitted with the online application.

Under the direction of the Archeology Survey Team Leader, this position performs advanced (senior-level) archeological research and serves as Principal Investigator and Project Archeologist.  Supervises crew members on archeological field reconnaissance survey, inventory survey, testing, and excavation projects conducted by the Archeology Survey Team.  Applies for Antiquities Permits and successfully completes investigations under the Antiquities Code of Texas.  Plans and executes research designs.  Coordinates and directs field investigations as requested by the Archeology Survey Team Leader.  Responsibilities include site recording, monitoring of construction excavations, Global Positioning System (GPS) data collection, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) map production, and artifact analysis.  Writes and edits archeological reports, ensuring that they meet the specifications of the Antiquities Code of Texas, and Council of Texas Archeologists standards.  Synthesizes archeological data for inclusion in Cultural Resource Management Plans.  Presents archeological outreach activities to the public.  May assign and/or supervise the work of others.  Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for use of initiative and independent judgment.  Performs additional duties as assigned.  Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures.
