Lawhon Associates, Inc. (L&A) is seeking an energetic and self-motivated individual to join our Cultural Resource Group.�  Our practice involves both archaeology and historic architecture and is focused on the identification of resources, assessment of effects and development and implementation of mitigation measures.�  

� 

As a member of L&A�⒠�s multi-disciplined team, you will be working directly with our senior professionals and executive managers. � The successful candidate will contribute to a variety of projects including but not limited to: literature reviews, archaeology surveys, NRHP determinations/nominations, preservations plans and agency coordination.�  Projects will involve overnight travel to job sites throughout Ohio and surrounding states.�  �

Qualifications

� 

Qualified candidates must meet or exceed the U.S. Secretary of the Interior�⒠�s Professional Qualification Standards in the field of Archaeology, be well-versed in Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and possess 4 to 6 years of archaeological consulting experience in the public and private sector. This is a full-time position; however, individuals seeking part-time employment will be considered. The position is based in our Columbus, Ohio office

Requirements

The required competencies and skills include:

�§�  Effective communication skills

�§�  Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities

�§�  Strong technical writing skills

�§�  Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines 

�§�  Knowledge of Microsoft office products

Preferred competencies and skills include:

�§�  Phase II and Phase III experience (both fieldwork and reporting)

�§�  Historic archaeology experience

�§�  Excellent research capabilities
