[ShovelBums.Org] CRA seeking Mid-Level Staff Archaeologist for Richmond, Virginia Office

Cultural Resource Analysts, Inc. (CRA) is seeking a mid-level Staff
Archaeologist with Mid-Atlantic/Southeastern U.S. experience for our
Richmond, Virginia office. The candidate will be expected to manage and
direct compliance projects, including multiple projects at a time, for
public and private sector clients. We are looking for someone who is detail
oriented, well-organized, an excellent verbal and written communicator,
comfortable with complex survey and excavation logistics, and
technologically proficient with experience working with databases. Specific
duties include working with staff to prepare proposals and budgets, develop
scopes of work, oversee projects while conducting fieldwork and managing
field crews, conduct analyses, interpret analytical data, and write reports.





The qualified candidate must


* have a graduate degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, History, or a
related field;


* meet the Secretary of the Interior Standards (36 CFR 61) in
archaeology;


* be a Registered Professional Archaeologist or will be eligible for
registration; and


* have three (3) years of supervisory experience.





Transportation project experience a plus and experience with cemetery
delineations and battlefields also desirable. Experience navigating and
collecting geospatial data using handheld GPS units is expected. Working
knowledge of GIS applications, experience using a transit/total station,
geophysical survey equipment, and operating 4-wheel drive vehicles in rough
terrain is preferable.





The candidate should expect frequent stays away from the office for travel
throughout the region for fieldwork. It is imperative that the candidate be
able to work 8 to 10 hour days (or longer if necessary) in a variety of
conditions. Stooping, bending and lifting are essential functions of this
position.





The position is a full-time, salaried position with a full benefit package.
