Visiting Assistant Professor of Anthropology Position at Eastern New Mexico University

Eastern New Mexico University�⒠�s Department of Anthropology and Applied Archaeology invites applications for a one-year, full-time visiting Assistant Professor position for a North American archaeologist to begin in August 2016. We seek an archaeologist specializing in Paleoindian prehistory of the North American Southwest. The ideal candidate will have methodological expertise in GIS. Skills in quantitative methods, lithic analysis, geoarchaeology and other areas that complement the existing strengths of the department are a plus. Responsibilities will include teaching a range of general undergraduate and graduate courses, four per semester for two semesters. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed their Ph.D. by August 2016.

ENMU�⒠�s Department of Anthropology and Applied Archaeology (http://www.enmu.edu/anthro) offers degrees in Anthropology at the Baccalaureate and Master�⒠�s degree levels. We also offer service courses in anthropology, cultural diversity, and global studies for the University�⒠�s general education program. The core focus of our department is its hands-on scientific approach to anthropology that enables engaged learning, attracts research-oriented faculty, and supports a full research-based Master�⒠�s degree program. Instruction is supplemented by an anthropological research division known as the Agency for Conservation Archaeology as well as the Blackwater Draw Museum, the Miles Anthropology Collection, and the Blackwater Draw National Historical Landmark site (the Clovis archaeological type site). Eastern New Mexico University is a regional comprehensive, Masters-granting public university.
